Settlement Study Update (2011)

This study is a desk top study which brings together information and data from a range of sources to develop a wider understanding of the Bradford District and its settlements.

Each settlement profile provides an overview of the area, its historical development, its current role, followed by information regarding the following:

  • Population and Social Structure
  • Housing
  • Employment
  • Retail
  • Community Facilities
  • Transport
  • Natural Environment
  • Nature Conservation
  • Land Conditions
  • Local Heritage
  • Key planning issues; and
  • Key opportunities.

This document is published alongside the Core Strategy Further Engagement Draft consultation in 2011.

Draft Settlement Study (2008)

This study provides a snapshot of the various settlements and areas within the Bradford Urban Area in terms of facilities, infrastructure and sustainability. It forms part of the evidence base for the LDF to support the development of a settlement hierarchy for the location of development at the next stage of the Plan preparation. This document
